Can you hear the drums and see the soldiers marching, Willie
They are playing "Yankee Doodle Dandy"
See how straight and tall they march
Their anthem
"No Taxation Without Representation"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
''Remember the Alamo'' was the cry that was shouted about
Valiant heros were Crockett and Bowie and others who gave their
life's blood for Texas and America on that hallowed soil
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you hear the cannons and see the fireballs, Johnny Reb
Brother against brother facing life or death
It made mothers hearts full of dread
both sides believing they were right and that God was their Might
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you see those brave doughboys of WW 1, Willie
So very young and so far away from home
Fighting that horrid war - praying it would be the last one to fight
Marching - singing "The Caissons Go Rolling Along"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
''Remember Pearl Harbor'' - The battle cry of America
Attacked without cause - Bringing war again to all
Roosevelt said ''We have nothing to fear, but fear itself''
Soldiers standing tall in uniforms - some Army green
some in Air Force blue
They were so young and brave - some going to an early grave
Fighting so we could be free
Stand at attention as they parade to "Stars and Stripes Forever"
Heros that we can never repay
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you see our young soldiers on the border to North Korea
for over 50 years they have there stayed
Will they come home someday
Valiant men some gave their all - some now the horror they still recall
Can you see them, Willie
marching so straight and tall praying they would be home by the fall
Mothers' son going to an undeclared war and not allowed to win
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you hear Taps being played, Willie
Can you see the jungles of Vietnam
Feel the rain and fire pouring down in sheets on our brave soldiers
They too fighting a war that they weren't allowed to win
Fellow Americans treating them with shame when off the planes they came
Soldiers being spit upon for fighting for our homeland
Where were the bands to greet them, Willie
Can they ever forgive us for not defending them when they were defending us
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you hear the bag pipes playing "Amazing Grace", Willie
When those great American's were laid to rest
Can you feel the pain when the towers came down
Did you see the ash and debris swirling in the air
Children searching for parents and parents searching for their children
Do you still remember that day, Willie
Did you see the pain in those dear souls' eyes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you see our brave soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq
Brave is the soldier there - each willing to do their share
Helping to free a country bound in years of slavery of the body and mind
Now we can say that tyrant is dead
While here in our homeland some are ready to abandon them too
Ready to hold them up to mockery and shame
Forsaking the lives they have unchained
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can you hear the bells ringing, Willie
Lets us all stand and salute our soldiers who leave home and hearth
to give another people a new start - to help free a land in bondage since time began
They stand between us and the enemy that wants to destroy us
Bravery - Spirit - Valor
Great men and women of courage
Heros that we can be proud of, Willie
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, and the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men
Christmas Bells

Let us not forget what a blessed Nation we have
and the brave men and women in our military that
are on guard protecting us day and night
GOD BLESS THEM
AND
PLEASE, GOD, BLESS AMERICA

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage;
do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
