Follow Ye Me

Jesus left the example for the life we are to live
The way to walk, to talk, to pray, and to give
All are instructed to do has He did here
To walk by faith and not by fear
To see not to the matters of our own
But to those without food, water or home
Spread the gospel is the Lords command
But there is one thing I don’t understand
Some seem to follow so smoothly this plight
While others struggle to just sleep at night
Some are prosperous in all they may touch
But the others well not so much
If both men do the exact same things
Why will one cry and the other sing
Peter asked the question so I wouldn’t have to
When concerning John he ask what will this man do
If he tarry until I come what is that to you
basically saying you have your own work to do
He went on to caution peter saying follow ye me
To the highest mountain or deepest sea
Don’t worry about the one on the left or right
Keep the vision of the Lord Jesus in sight
Some may seem to receive a more than their share
But the God of all is just and fair
There may be some things others will go through
That the Lord knows at the time is too much for you
There are other things that you will face
That no other at the time could stand in your place
Just follow Jesus diligently and by faith be sure
That you will receive a just reward
Some may gossip and some may lie
Some may cheat and seem to get by
What is that to you follow ye me
There is nothing under the sun that I don’t see
The promises and rewards I have for you
Does not depend on what others do
The covenant and relationship between you and I
Is a personal walk to your mansion in the sky
So whatever good or evil that you may see
What is that to you follow ye me
