As long as an heir is a child,
Not out anywhere running wild;
He is no better off than a slave,
While looking at an early grave.

Even though he owns everything,
As happiness it will never bring;
For he is placed under the control,
Guardians and trustees of his soul.

Till a time set forth by his father,
For being ruled not by another;
And given the knowledge and wisdom,
To be able to rule the kingdom.

Just as for us it was the same way,
As children we must trust and obey;
We were slaves to the principles here,
On being struck with terror and fear.

But when the time was precisely right,
God decided to go shed some light;
And He sent His Son into the world,
Allowing His plan to be unfurled.

A virgin woman gave birth to Him,
At a time when Rome had made things grim;
And came under control of God's Law,
To live a life without any flaw.

God sent Him to pay for the freedom,
So man could join Him in His Kingdom;
Then the inheritance that could share,
As adopted children as an heir.

God had sent the Spirit of His Son,
So that the job would be getting done;
Into each of us for calling out,
"Abba, Father" for having no doubt.

So you are no longer as enslaved,
Rather as a method to be saved;
And in being rightful heirs to God,
As His children to honor and laud
