Remind believers to always,
Obey all the laws of the land;
For someone who wanders and strays,
Would be standing on sinking sand.
Believers should never try to curse,
Or should ever try to argue;
Because they could make matters worse,
By saying things that are not true.
We were once dumb and unruly,
Through deception as we misled;
Never being honest truly,
Hate and discontent we were fed.
We were slaves within our mind,
To so many lusts and pleasures;
Jealous and mean but never kind,
Being greedy for more treasure.
We were hated, despised others,
As we were filled with so much lust;
Suspicious of our brothers,
Feeling as though we could not trust.
Our Savior showed His love,
As He made His kindness appear;
We could feel it come from above,
To take anxiety and fear.
For He saved us from our sin,
Not from anything we had done;
But for a new life to begin,
Through the power within His Son.
God has given His approval,
Because of His mercy and grace;
Giving a chance for removal,
Of the sinful way we embrace.
He has saved us through the cleaning,
And the His Spirit gives new birth;
And giving life a new meaning,
By showing us our true worth.
