The Father gives us His love, Since He loves us so much; As it flows from above, You feel His gentle touch. We are children of God, Each of us His child; So we honor and laud, As tender and mild. The world does not realize, Will not recognize us; So they will criticize, Ridicule with a fuss. They did not know either, And hung Christ on a cross; As seen by the Father, To suffer such a loss. What we will be not clear, But know when Christ appears; He will be always near, For drying our tears. We will be just like Him, Since we see as He is; Full of joy and not grim, Because we will be His. You will have confidence, For keeping yourself pure; Which will be your defense, Against the sin to cure. Those living sinful lives, Are disobeying God; And when Jesus arrives, He condemns being flawed. You know that Christ appeared, To take away all sin; And He should be revered, So new life can begin. Those who live within Christ, Do not go on sinning; For what they sacrificed, As they go on winning. Copyright © 2015 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
