OTHER SIDE OF THE PAPER

Other side of this paper
Is "MY HELIX" poem
Written in haste another night
As so many others
When everyone goes to sleep
I come alive
Without their mouths
Communicating to me
The same thing
Over and over
Until I feel
I could go
Insane if
I have to hear it
Even one more
Time
On the other side of the paper
I'm stuck in Seattle
Just like the snow
That fell this morning
Is still sticking to the ground
Baby, I'm delighted at that
As it didn't happen last year
When I was 17 miles away
From here
On the opposite side of
Helix
Sits Seattle
Biggest place in all
Of the Northwest
Where I'm just a guest
Wondering if I'll burn
In hell
For living here
To me
There is no country here
Where I can feel free
A top a plateau
See for 30 miles
Where sunset smiles
For me
Like I'm a Country Queen
Kicking up dust
In the trust
That nature gave me
When people were mean
No mercy given
It's prayer, pills and poetry
That keep me living'
When I've lost most
Everything I knew
As "THE DOVE FLIES"
I flew
Now here
Trying not to live in fear
Still was run over
In a crosswalk
Hit and run
"Kill a gram-gram"
Is what comes
'Round here
Not much dear
To me yet
Take the traffic jams, wrecks
Take the murders, despair
Thankful so thankful some of
My families here, or why
Live?
I've more to give...
