Tell believers to live,
The kind of life that goes;
As taught to forgive,
That the godliness shows.
Tell elders be sober,
Telling them to be good;
Just like a good neighbor,
In doing as they should.
Always use good judgment,
Which should be ever sound;
Words be spoken as meant,
As virtuously bound.
Tell women to live life,
In a way that will show;
An endurance to strife,
As God would only know.
Tell them not to gossip,
Addicted to strong drink;
Nothing foul from their lip,
As they take time to think.
So be morally straight,
Example of virtue;
And just patiently wait,
While remaining true.
Those who are believers,
Submit to their masters;
They can be receivers,
Of the Word through pastors.
For God's saving kindness,
That has appeared to all;
Giving you blessedness,
Catching you when you fall.
It trains us to avert,
Living ungodly lives;
And keeping you alert,
Until Jesus arrives.
Expect for what we hope,
When Jesus Christ appears;
Until then we must cope,
With the strife and the fears.
