Shamrock on The Shankhill

Shamrock on The Shankhill         June 13, 2015

Young and free, thanks to them from me
Irish heroes, Ireland forever free
We know the sacrifice you made
The struggle carries on
A New Ireland for you and me
Democracy for all, Irish people free
Dark days are gone with the morning sun
We remember everyone
The shamrock will grow where we couldn't go
The flag of our country will fly as one
The laughter of our children will show us all the way
Change has come and it's here to stay
Bricks and mortar built by them will go
The walls of hate, say yes instead of no
Extend the hand of freedom to every single one
Freedoms on the way, our struggle has been won
Shamrock on the Shankhill with whiskey on the Falls
Ring out the bell of freedom, take down the dividing walls
Young and free, thanks to them from me
Irish heroes, Ireland forever free
