Listless cigarette dangle
exclamation point to pain
split-lip tattoo on the filter
impossible nonchalance
of a bloodied face
stolen beauty
her back against the wall
she's a living mural
red on white
an eye fisted black
swollen statement of love
image blasted onto the retinas
without vision: abandoned
by the light over reason
she gives in to gravity
slumps to the floor
what's left of live
sucks the nicotine
from bruised smoke
pulls her long craving
knows she will go back
