Why

Why                    June 22, 2015

Why can't I bring rifles to protect the land I love?
Why can't I protect my country in the spirit of the dove
Cruel England killed our people, as they kill me today
My name is Roger Casement I supported freedoms way
My country has been taken by the foreign British Hun
To kill Irish leaders, our struggle will be won
Irish thoughts you and me, my country will be free
I will walk to death for Ireland, I die with thoughts of Ireland free
Killing Irish leaders, why don't you kill them all
The children of the heroes will haunt you one and all
Freedom for Ireland walking proud and tall
The laughter of our children, God bless them all
If the English Queen was put to death by Irish freedom
Would that be a crime? How does justice seem
I walk to death, without a choice
I walk with heroes, I have an Irish voice
Goodbye to Ireland, the country of my choice
I love my country dearly and pray we can be one
I was killed for Irish freedom, our country will be one
Why can't I bring rifles to protect the land I love?
Why can't I protect my country in the spirit of the dove?
