Children of The Children
Children of The Children June 21, 2015
The force that killed with a vengeance
Sanctioned by democracy, another British thrill
Murders approved by the powers that be
Shoot a Paddy, two or three
The English government got it wrong
Rule Britannia what went wrong?
Eight hundred years in Ireland
Stealing our culture and our land
You took our people, Trevelyan's fields
Children alone, do you care how that feels?
The children of the children England sent away
Will haunt the shores of England, every single day
You killed many Irish people; we never went away
"The famine of Shame" let the people die
The world knows another English lie
As the servants ask would you like some more
Children died on an Irish shore
You killed many Irish heroes, we remember everyone
Connolly in nineteen sixteen and the year of eighty-one
They jailed Mandela, the Irish people's friend
Peace no hatred, free the people that's what Madiba said
Gandhi defeated England and never used the gun
No more the union flag will fly, Gandhi's Orange and Green
Your days are numbered England, leave our Irish shore
The Empire is over, Rockall is Irish for sure
The force that killed with a vengeance
Sanctioned by democracy, another British thrill
