A Hawk against a Mouse

A Hawk Against a Mouse               June, 28,2015

My wish list before I die, Please God help me try
Help me do the best I can, please don't ask me why
My country has been in chains, I want Ireland to be free
I want the people in my land loving you and me
Many Irish people have gone away, no goodbye to say
All across my country, tell me why they could not stay
Troubles in my land have lasted way to long
Tell me why this happened, tell what went wrong
Ireland has been forgotten in the order of the day
Planters came and stole my land they never went away
The invaders strong with power stole Ireland and our life
Irish people became prisoners, they took me from my wife
Killed for stealing corn, if you're lucky sent away
Being Irish is a crime to this very day
My wish is for Irish freedom, join us everyone
Killed for being Irish, Bloody Sunday's on my mind
The leaders of our country killed by the other kind
The power of the ones that came, a hawk against a mouse
Stealing my country, invading Irelands house
Ireland for the Irish, the revolution has begun
My wish list before I die, Please God help me try
Help me do the best I can, please don't ask me why
