I KNEW A BOYHe went to Arizona With my adopted son Waiting days to Check his ankle After motor cycling fun Then he got hooked on oxycodone Lost his mind forgot to phone home When in trouble bursting the bubble Of one so young He came undone It's been no fun Here in my mind Thinking of his young face that shined For me before Now even words won't close the door To his spirit as I hear it here inside It doesn't have pain or hide It's self from me I let it be He lost his woman A car wreck coming Destroyed it all Then came the fall From the tree Rope around your neck set free All the pain you were hiding All the stress you were riding On like a stallion no one could see That jumped off a cliff into the free Now you're flying While I'm spying With this mental hell of poetry Because you were once alive to be Now, not to be is the question What it's really like I'm only guessing That the white light fades to black Where you can't come back Mr VanSycle, Mr. Dutch Mr. Brandon, Mr. Much Often, I think of you All the life you never knew While I cannot fight it I can write these words about it. 6/12/2015 1430PST cj Vote for this poem
