What causes a quarrel or fight?
Are they not selfish desires?
Jealousy taking away sight,
For what your greed requires.
They are fighting to control you,
In wanting what you do not bear;
Because of what you would construe,
And you get it you do not care.
You are even willing to kill,
Motivating for your pleasure;
Covet to obtain will instill,
A war to obtain such treasure.
You get not since you do not pray,
Or you pray for things that are wrong;
Things that are causing you to stray,
Anything that does not belong.
You do not know about true love,
The things that you need and should ask;
For evil does not come from above,
Things you need do not wear a mask.
Whoever wants to be a friend,
Of this world is a foe to God;
Look not for Satan to defend,
For His promises are flawed.
The Holy Spirit lives within,
And wants us for being His own;
And will cleanse us from our sin,
Because of mercy from the throne.
God rebukes arrogant people,
But He is kind to the humble;
Since they are living the Gospel,
Curbing anger and not grumble.
So merely resist the devil,
And then He will just run away;
Think not nor do any evil,
That would cause you to go astray.
