Branching Out

This is for all the friends who helped my daughter, the words are hers, I just put them together. Thank you all so much.

Branching out was started because green spaces proved to help peoples well-being and self-esteem improve, and it has never looked back.
Many people and organizations came together to make this happen and by doing so improved life for so many. This is also a free treatment which lasts for twelve weeks. The oldest member had her 88th birthday with them.

Twelve weeks ago I felt so low
I nearly faced my end
When I was guided to Branch out
Where I found grand new friends
Laura and Brian were just so kind
They helped sort out my wounded mind
I met others just like me
Who fought so hard to be set free
To fight this pain within our soul
This great group helped make us whole
Cups of tea and building bridges
As we wandered on the ridges
Of the woods, beneath the trees
Felt the sun and loved the breeze
We told each other of our pain
Which helped us all to start again
From the hell of dark inside
Where from ourselves we could not hide
We as a group sat down together
In many different kinds of weather
Around the camp fire we would talk
Through the oak trees we would walk
I struggled up a huge steep hill
`Though in pain I found the will
I learned just why a bird still sings
Although it has two broken wings
Somehow I found when we were done
It was okay to have some fun
They taught me I was worth a lot
Something that I had forgot
So thank you Laura, Brian and all
You have helped me to stand tall
As I leave to walk alone
I will take with me back home
The self-belief that I have found
Thank you friends for being around.
