You know about what I have taught,
Purpose of faith and way of life;
And everything I have sought,
Bringing joy in the midst of strife.
My patience and also my love,
As well as having endurance;
While seeking help from up above,
For having added perseverance.
The suffering and persecution,
From which the Lord had rescued me;
By starting a revolution,
To preach of Christianity.
Those who try to live godly lives,
Because of the Lord Jesus Christ;
Have been vulnerable to knives,
As threatened to be sacrificed.
Evil folks and phony preachers,
Have been going from bad to worse;
Are being misled by teachers,
And having a satanic curse.
Continue in what you have learned,
And have found in seeking the truth;
Because of your belief has yearned,
To be polite and not uncouth.
You know who your teachers have been,
Since infancy for you have known;
Every kind of deadly sin,
That the Lord never does condone.
The Scriptures will give you power,
With wisdom so you can be saved;
In waiting for Christ to scour,
All of the sin that has enslaved.
Scripture passages inspire,
Each passage inspired by God;
For knowledge that you acquire,
Exposes where others are flawed.
Learning from Scriptures never stops,
And are never just to inform;
Of you think of them like the crops,
At harvest time how they transform.
