Inside my eardrums you would morph and echo over and over like a baby
Except the belly would be a cage of harp strings and your legs would be hammering on them
Sometimes you hammered too hard and they snapped so I would try to think my way out of it
But I couldn't
I never can
I'm a drum and your voice is broken
As we both grew we would scream together like too small children afraid of the dark
Except I was a child and you were a creature and temptation was your lure
My room was a prison cell and you were the chains wrapped around my arms a little too tightly
Your Voice was still broken, bloodshot like my eyes
