Forgive me for staring
At your sun speckled hair
Waving defiantly in the warm,
Wastrelwind of this July day.
Forgive me for being obsessed
With your summer sky blue eyes,
As you stand scarcely conscious
Of yourself waiting for the light.
And forgive me most of all for
Forgetting that an older man
Must be conscious of his dignity
Even in the face of such beauty,
For betraying the unwritten law
That older men should neverplay
The fool, even as you walk away,
And go back to lives bereft of you.
