Ah yes, Womb of the Same Mother has children stories
It was often, always foggy in Foggy Valley. Morning would begin and end with a icy
mist that seemed to settle always, most of the time, in just one spot. First appearing
on a steep Grey clay muddy bank, {enough adjectives and pronouns"} But kids books are a
learning process especially for me, above and beyond and behind the site of the old oaken
bridge where the biggest and best jumping toads hid. Rumors a Princess had once lived there
but unproven, this being a ferrytale. The original Frog and Princess story a pro-log, get it!.
The bridge never really had a name. Locals referred to the bridge as the bridge that went
no wheres and did not have a name. Children were told to for their safety stay away from
No Where's bridge, but we all know how children mind. It was hard to do especially on warm
sunny days when the frogs and one lonely duck did play who lost his love running in front
of a semitruck. To understand this you must read The Princess and the Tode. The beginning of
the series of childrens stories. {another shameless commercial} Above the mist appeared
Snowy Mountains so named because, all right the kids figured out why it was so named Snowy
Mountain.
On the days a child would dare to go there he or she or them, {This has to be politically
correct,} they might hear the sounds of dogs barking, frogs croaking, fireflies lighting,
a Mountain Lion or two prowling and a Panther. #{This is where it starts to be fictional.
There are no Panthers in the Northwest} Most frightening the running of footsteps from the
other end of the Bridge that goes no wheres. The children would always, most of the time.
stop in the center of the bridge. There would be a hail of rocks and stones, {redundantcy}
and pointed spear like sticks, followed by screaming and chanting in the voices of children.
Once was seen the head of a python snake that disappeared in the slime. Only Iron Mike
had seen the Monster and he tended to be more fictional than non fictional in his story
telling. Most of the days would begin and end in eerie silence.
On a days that it sun shined and there was no heavy fog or mist children under the age of
eleven were not allowed to go near the bridge which was confusing because in foggy Valley
the drinking age was nine. When asked and kids are nosy they were told because it was too
dangerous. For on a clear day on a distant shore were seen monsters carrying weapons. They
were known as immigrants. The heavy fog was Foggy Valleys protection that an Iron Mike.
Non of the elders wanted to be caught in the middle of the bridge during an attack or
earthquake or tsunami. Which most people thought was a thing put in a sandwhich. Most of
the days the bridge was guarded with pitchforks. Except harvesting season when most of the
able men in the village were working in the turnip fields. Turnips being a staple of the
Foggy Valley diet.At that time Iron Mikes as director of defense was to guard the bridge.
