"Crazy"  They Call Me

its hard to trust someone
anyone
when they think you're
when they label you
crazy

you simply can't tell them
anything

you close shop
turn the lights off
shut down the circuits

you are not your diagnosis
but a flesh and blood
human being

not meant to be
discounted
therapeutically
or otherwise

we're all in the same boat
actually
crazy that is

clinical dissectionism
isn't going to put one person on the upper end
of the teeter totter forever
ah gee

we all go a bit crazy sometimes
because that is the state of this world

we talk to machines
not to one another
we think of people as collections of symptoms
not complex individuals with real feelings that are intelligent and
oh my oh my inform

when was the last time you went into a
coffee shop and had real flipping
conversation
yeah, crazy, huh?
oops, there is that word, huh.

so, folks never ever assume
you are going to establish trust
with anyone by jumping out the starting gate
by thinking-labeling them kwazy

it ain't gonna work

people want to be treated like
people
plain and simple
