“The Tuileries Garden”
“The Café Diane”
Buying Vintage Postcards”
“‘The Kiss' by Rodin”
“A Warm Baguette”
“A Chilled Chardonnay”
“The Eiffel at Night”
“The Champs-Élysées”
Over tea and croissants
At the Café de Flore
We had emptied our cups
So we ordered some more
Laughed and talked of ourfuture
And what life was about
We took a photograph there
But it didn't turn out
“Notre Dame Gargoyle”
“We Love Monet!!!”
“Asleep at ‘The Thinker'”
“The Musée d'Orsay”
“At the Arc de Triomphe”
“Mona Lisa: The Louvre”
“A Morris Column Nouveau Poster for the Moulin Rouge”
If you've ever been to
You know well when it's said
That if you're not in love with something there
You're probably dead
But that “something” was her
Paris couldn't compete
When she lay next me
I felt the world at my feet
“Getting Caught in the Rain”
“An Accordion Man”
“A Funky 2CV Red Classic 1960's Sedan”
“At La Tour d'Argent'”
“Eating Raspberry Crepes”
“In a Sunset Embrace, on the Basilica Steps”
On the edge of my mirror
In the frame near the top
There's a
Paris
The only one that I've got
It's titled
“Pont des Arts, With Our Lock and Pen”
Taken after we'd kissed
And thrown our key in the Seine
The photographs are long lost
Like the love that we shared
Except the one in the mirror
That I nostalgically spared
I don't have all the answers
To why we parted that day
Routine and Time can be killers
And we the innocent prey
In the dark of a dream
My past andfuture were one
In time I woke to the present
And now I'm feeling the sun
The fools stillgamble on romance
The wise still wager on safe
This time I'm laying bothbets
And pulling back on the pace
Life's a picture that holds
A true love yet to be found
So picture me as I take
This final Polaroid down
