Sandman, fashion me
A dream
The works of which
I've never seen -
String me out a
Novel tale,
Decked in seashells,
Call the whales -
I don't want a
Fairy song,
Oh Sandyman
Don't do me wrong.
I want the ocean
In my dreams,
Want the salt in
Every seam
Of my pillow as
I breathe -
Come on, Sandman,
What a tease.
I want to feel my lover
As I sleep tonight -
Can you do that,
With your might?
No, you say? But
People say
They can control you,
Their own way
Had in their sleep...
But it's not true?
Oh Sandman, I
Believed in you.
Memories are all
I have,
Oh Sandman, you've
Made me sad.
Now I must fall
Asleep in bed -
Without a dream,
I lay my head.
Forget the whales,
Give me a stone;
Without dreams,
I sleep alone.
