It crossed my mind the other day to send a text to God,
which seemed to me so very strange and even rather odd?
I thought about it carefully and wondered what to write
these questions then occurred to me and it felt strangely right.
First I asked God ‘How are you? What music do you like?
Do you like the BBC and radio at night?
I asked so many questions my head began to spin
then I felt the strangest thing the forming of a grin.
And slowly from the heart of me and from my belly deep
there rose a rumbling, bumbling sound this prison could not keep.
And out it burst with wind support a laugh so rare from me
it made me gasp for want of air and still its joy would speak.
I can't recall the time that passed before the laughter stopped
And when it did it came to me a door had been unlocked.
My heartfelt light, my eyes shone bright, my thoughts no longer odd
I'm glad it crossed my mind that day to send a text to God.
