 I Once Was Blind But Now I See

A Sumptuous Meal




Mom was a great cook all of her life.
There was a day when Mom did  a meal that was so sumptuous that it has stuck within my memory.
The meat was roast beef along with the potatoes, the gravy, the biscuits and the collard greens.
There was the iced tea Mom would prepare along with the dessert.
All was something wonderful and lovingly prepared.
Mom worked hard this day preparing this meal.
It was from the kitchen that was the biggest one we had.
Mom had plenty of room to move with this kitchen and to have the table there was commonplace.
Was a great day for  us to eat the meal she has prepared.
The collard greens were as delectable as they ever were.
The roast beef was simply special and really worth the eating.
The biscuits were to clamor over for finding who'd get the last one
The homemade mashed potatoes were something else along with the gravy one could enjoy eating.
This is how Mom prepared her meals all the time with the right things and her love  intertwined.
