ameriKKKa's Most Hated Muslim Poet
Email Poem | Today's Poetry
Ramadhan in July is plenty hot,
Still the salaat soldiers grab up every barakat,
By being super attentive during salaat,
Making all five in the masjid in jamaat,
Reading Qur'an almost non-stop,
Policing up their conduct
Like an Islamic version of Robo Cop,
Having a few dates for Iftar,
A few sips of water from a jar,
After Maghreb taking a short nap on the floor
Or, outside the masjid in the van or car,
Parking close to the masjid
So, our travel isn't far,
Praying Inshaa,
Another prayer in the bank,
Standing for tawarrih in the first rank,
Bowing down before our Lord giving thanks,
Going home getting into bed,
Sleeping with thoughts of Tahajjuh filling our head
As we remember the sweet recitation
Of the Qari and the ayats  that he read
 From the  memory
Embedded from the tablet in his head,
Two hours of sleep and we feel relief,
Now back to the masjid behind the Imam...
Our prayer chief,
Listening to more recitation of Al Mushaf al Shareef,
Tahajjuh is over and
Fajr is coming in,
Just enough time for suhoor
Before the salaat soldiers
Start it up again,
Snatching all available blessing
From the months beginning
Through to its end....
You have indeed… earned an Eid,
