I went to the Lord in prayer,
To rescue me from my fears;
Because I needed to share,
Problems that have brought on tears.
All who are looking to Him,
Will feel a radiant glow;
Can never be feeling grim,
Because of blessings that flow.
My face never covers with shame,
As a poor man who calls out;
To quench the immoral flame,
That has spurred all of the doubt.
The Lord had heard and saved me,
From the troubles that smother;
As His angel helps me see,
Evil made by another.
Taste and see that God is good,
As you take refuge in him;
He helps you do as you should,
Giving you vigor and vim.
Fear the Lord all you people,
Those who fear will never need;
You are fed by the Gospel,
Within you He plants His seed.
Young lions hunger and thirst,
But those who will fear the Lord;
Know and never to be cursed,
Their pleas are never ignored.
I will teach you how to fear,
Which will give you a full life;
Never to have to shed a tear,
Confronting toils and strife.
Turn away from the evil,
Seek peace as you pursue it;
Avoid works of the devil,
God will reward for merit.
