I appeal to your leaders,
To be spiritual feeders;
As a witness unto Christ,
On why He was sacrificed.
Do not let the Book be sealed,
But let glory be revealed;
To be shepherds of the flock,
Through each sermon that they talk.
Be shepherds over the flock,
Guiding wherever they walk;
God has entrusted to you,
As well as all that they do.
Do not do because you must,
Do this for your faith and trust;
Doing since you desire,
Lighting a sacred fire.
Be a model they can see,
What Jesus wants them to be;
Never to be a swayer,
Rather leading in a prayer.
When the chief shepherd appears,
Your flock will not have the fears,
Seeing the crown that you get,
Of glory paid from your debt.
Turn all your anxiety,
As well as your agony;
To God for He cares for you,
And always remaining true.
Keep your mind alert and clear,
For Satan just might appear;
For he looks to devour,
Someone every hour.
Be firm in faith and resist,
Even though he will persist;
Watch over the flock you keep,
He does not steal as they sleep.
