Things that once had value,
Are now worthless for Christ;
Since you do not construe,
Things that made you enticed.
It is far more than that,
Since all else is worthless;
No longer getting fat,
As God awaits to bless.
It is because of Him,
That I do think this way;
No longer feeling sad,
Of not going astray.
For rubble piles up,
Keeps you from pressing on;
With poison in your cup,
As you drink until dawn.
I threw it all away,
In order to gain Christ;
To heed and obey,
Earthly things sacrificed.
But I did not receive,
The approval from God,
Rather faith to believe,
As I honor and laud.
Approval comes from God,
On the faith it is based;
Cleansing where is am flawed,
To at last be embraced.
So that I may know Him,
For faith knows the power;
With new vigor and vim,
Increasing each hour.
It is suffering to share,
And in being sincere;
When going into prayer,
For calming down your fear.
I am not a winner,
Rather do as I can;
I am still a sinner,
Abiding in His plan.
