As long as you are a child,
You are no better than a slave;
Being crude as well as wild,
And even to an early grave.
So you must be under control,
Of a guardian or trustee;
Until such time to reach your goal,
Enabled to claim liberty.
It was the same way for others,
Slaves to the precepts of this place;
Enslaving sisters and brothers,
Since we did not have any grace.
So when the fullness of time came,
God had then sent His only Son;
Whereas the prophets did proclaim,
The birth of the Anointed One.
Onto us a woman gave birth,
Under the control of the Law;
Thirty three years upon this earth,
Never developed any flaw.
God sent Him to pay for freedom,
Of those who could never abide;
Giving a path to the Kingdom,
After He had been crucified.
The Father has adopted you,
Making you a child of God;
And as long as you remain true,
Worshipping with honor and laud.
There was a time you did not know,
And you were slaves to earthly things;
Causing passion of lust to flow,
For all of the pleasure it brings.
But now you know the Lord instead,
So how could you ever turn back;
Eternal life since Christ has bled,
Giving you whatever you lack.
