Standing
Here
In my doorway
I never closed the door
On our love
I peer out the window
Between the shade slats
Each morning
Looking for signs of you
Though you could never see myhome
There are others
Who have touched my heart
But there will only be
One of you
Just as only one of me
I should let them in
More than I have
Maybe there is a chance
To turn heartache
Into some kind of happiness
Maybe I'm looking
For your OK
Some sign
That you understand
I'm not there yet
Do you know
I never had one bad day with you
It was all happiness
Even the days we cried
We were together
The door to my heart
Will always be left ajar
You have a familiar place
Just as we left it
I can't close that door
