Living the Dream

Living the Dream

Sleeping in every morning, staying up late at night
Traveling the world to visit earth's greatest sights
Dinning daily on the best gourmet cuisines
Sipping champagne at the hottest night scenes
Working smarter not harder for a successful life
Living the dream, no stress no strife
Give to the poor every now and again
Write it off on taxes and everybody wins
Not quite at the bottom but almost there
A different dream of life without worry or care
No big bank account but enough to make do
The job is working the system for a dollar or two
All money is good money where this dream is concerned
Never work one day, to get what others have earned
Then there is the one most would call insane
Never living the dream still works hard to attain
Eating the words of a dead Man and calling it bread
Passing on the finest wines to drink His blood instead
Working smarter and harder, seemingly receiving no pay
But expecting to live the dream in a mansion some day
In time each man's life must come to an end
One dies all alone, another dies among friends
While all dreamed differently one thing is true
Their dreams came to an end as all dreams do
But when it's time to awake and you open your eyes
Will you see a burning lake or a castle in the skies?
There was a man named Lazarus, poor on this earth
He heard a dead man's words and considered their worth
Also a rich man who spent his life living the dream
He considered those same words as puffs of steam
But the dream he was living wasn't all it seemed to be
His last unheard cry was have mercy on me
Read if you will this story in Luke chapter 16
And picture yourself in the terrible dream
How often would you say the chance has come?
To break the Bread of Life and pass it to someone
Would it be wise to assume chance will come again
To awaken from the dream and escape from sin?
