God Bless Ireland          September 10, 2015

Glasgow Irish are here with a welcome for you
The Gallowgate people are Irish and true
At the end of a night everyone stand
With hands on their heart we sing for our land
The words of a soldier attention to all
We sing of our country, we remember the call
The young and the old sing of the past
We sing for our country and think of our land
We're Irish in Glasgow God Bless Ireland
Heroes have gone but that's not the last
The children of Ireland in Glasgow today
The struggle for freedom that will end in their day
Ireland free for you and me
Ireland free just wait and see Mandela  showed the way
I heard the words of Madiba, people must be free
No prejudice in life, people must be free
Ireland is a nation of migrants wanting to be free
Welcomed in many lands, join us, set them free
Free the people of the world, think of liberty
Welcome to the migrants, remember of our history
The flag flies proud in the Gallowgate
The flag flies at home while democracy waits
Welcome to Glasgow, your never alone
Join us in our struggle here and at home
Glasgow Irish are here with a welcome for you
The Gallowgate people are Irish and true
