Seen from these cliffs
today's sea,
mist-mottled and black-patched,
unfurls sullen waves
and flashes
white valleys that spit out ferocity.
ver the rocks, flung
by howlers
high-sprung and spume-crested
crash tide's tyrant-breakers,
all bent
on flooding our land and its houses.
Against this venom Sol's
last shreds,
cloud-covered and nocturnal-tied
sink, sucked under edges
of far horizon
but leaving red streaks in his setting.
e sure sign that with
tomorrow's dawn,
light-ridden and victory-clothed
will, thru' blue's dome
find sun's glorious
storm-beater smile rising as normal.
