A Quiet Young Man
To my handsome grandson Adam who is 26 years old today the 13/9/15 love always from Nannie and Star, hope you have a wonderful day hugs xxx
I remember my laddie watching you grow
Inside the womb of your mother you know
We had discussions what your name should be
So glad that your Mum and Dad listened to me
Great grandma was there and told them that you
Would be named for her Granddad who was Adam too
She held you and loved you as I did my lad
Almost as much as your Mum and Dad
I babysat you and wrapped you up tight
So you would be cosy and sleep through the night
I watched you grow and become a young man
Doing the best for your Dad that you can
Helping your Nannie now I`m getting old
A genuine soul with a heart made of gold
Soon you`ll be off to live far away
America beckons and seems to say
To some of my family, I want you here
You answer that call because it`s so clear
But go my laddie and have a great life
Out there you may find a wonderful wife
Have some wee kiddies to carry your name
But hope sometimes son that you will come hame
And visit your Nannie for I`ll miss you so
I love you Adam and want you to know
Though words are unspoken, here in my heart
I`ll always keep you and we`1l never part
A quiet young man with not much to say
Hope that you have a wonderful day
Happy birthday my laddie and have many more
