We went to the yearly State Fair today
It brought back old memories
I have been going since the age of seven
Every year I would buy a chameleon
Every year my pet would change colors
Run away and I figured it didn't love me
So I changed to buying white mice
Taking snowball home on the bus friend wanted to see it
Opened the lid and snowball popped out tried to catch it
Knocked over my friends box with a brown mouse
Women were screaming all over the bus
We were kicked off never saw snowball again
So next year I bought a green turtle
Would always be green and not travel fast
The turtle loved me and would not run away
It was a match made in heaven named him torch
One day I came home from school and torch was missing
Now how far could a turtle go from home
We searched and searched tore the house apart
Forty years later I was married but still had my old bed
Decided to sell it as a antique the lady buying said,
"What have we here", she was looking with a flashlight
It looked like a brown turtle Torch had dried up
He crawled into a hole in the leg of the iron bed
This year I decided not to buy any pets I am bad luck
