Listen and accept what I say,
Since they will multiply your years;
As long as you trust and obey,
It will chase away all your fears.
I taught you the ways of the Lord,
And guided you along His path;
But if you let them be ignored,
You will not be spared from the wrath.
Your stride will be firm as you walk,
When you run, you will not stumble;
With confidence as you talk,
And your appearance will be humble.
Attach yourself to discipline,
And never relaxing your grip;
Temptation tries to make you sin,
And will be causing you to trip.
Stray not onto another path,
And never walk within evil;
Then you shall feel the burning wrath,
That God will give to the devil.
Avoid it and do not go near,
No matter how tempting it be;
Deception can make it appear,
A delight for the eyes to see.
Wicked people can never sleep,
Unless they are doing some wrong;
Like a wolf that is stalking sheep,
They remain sleepless all night long.
They will devour stolen food,
And getting drunk on the best wine;
But they are obnoxious and rude,
Like the animals as they dine.
But the path of the righteous ones,
Is like the dawning of pure light;
Since they are the daughters and sons,
A blessing to God in His sight.
