My foot's caught on the shadows By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Got my foot caught on the shadows,
still thinking about my foes.
Look, I know I've looked you in the face,
but these feelings of hate aren't mine, they're yours.
It's just how it goes,
I can feel one way but say everything I didn't wanna say.
Dang, how did it get this way?
Why's it all so complicated?
Huh, why're all the colors faded?
Where's the strength in the day I once appreciated?
Now I live in the night, it's what I'm consumed in.
I'm not a worthy sight compared to other men.
I've gotta pen it, make a page on it,
capture all the rage, it's
everything I wanna put in a cage and up and leave it.
I've taken a lot and I hate it,
but nobody wants me to repay it?
No!
I can't live it that way
even when you might consider it even.
I know we've all got our reasons,
but to me there's still a debt and I haven't gotten to pay it.
Some people talk about rising up, but when it comes
to the shortcomings at the homecomings
we aren't man enough to say it.
Face it,
you didn't amount to the talk you spit in high school,
and I know deep down we're all acting like it's all cool.
But I'm not a fool,
even though I still act like one.
And I'm not a tool,
but I still crack like one.
