On an uncharted island
In the middle of a distant ocean
Is a crystal blue body of water
Called the Lake of Tears
For thousands of years
This lake has been holding
The tears of mothers
Suffering from
The loss of a child
As tears stream down their cheeks
And fall to the floor
A gentle breeze takes them away
From that melancholy place
Gliding on the tender currents
Finding their way home
To their final resting place
A lasting tribute to ones lost
The lake cries throughout the night
Soft moans travel smoothly
Upon the waters stilled surface
Legend says
On a clear night
You can hear the moans for miles
