"What is my purpose?" is often the question
That tends to bombard every mind
"Why was I born? And do I really matter?"
But we are all really hoping to find
That our time here on earth is of value...
That our lives are significantly spent.
There is satisfaction in some things we do
But life is more than just an event.
People, positions, will not fill the void...
Fame and fortune always leaves one cold...
But life does have a purpose and that purpose is
The presence of God in one's soul!
Yes, our one purpose in life is a person...
And that person is Jesus the Lord.
He, alone, is our reason for living
He, alone, is life's greatest reward.
Somebody once asked Him the question.
"What is it that matters the most?"
His answer ...Matthew 22:37...
Should be shouted from mountain to coast!
The Bible does give us examples...
King David admitted his wrong.
But the Pharisees and all the teachers of law
Rejected God's Way for their own.
They insisted on their rules, their standards,
Believed in their own righteousness.
King David, although sinful and flawed,
Believed that God's Way was the best.
God does not regard some great works
Except the works be performed in great love.
So, remember, that all of the small things
Are noticed from Heaven above.
So, if you are searching for purpose
There's no need to tread over this sod.
Your purpose in life is right here and right now...
Your purpose is living for God.
