Put me in the sea, I'm ready for anything,
but nothing anybody could tell me could prepare me for this.
Nights of deep thought after a childhood of bliss,
I'm sitting here asking myself 'where to after this?'.
So many different issues, a bunch of different lures
with all types of bait for the weakened and insecure.
Where do I stand, and where do I place
in a world gunning for the leader board, all running the same race?
Let's put aside sex, power, class, and race for just a second,
the longer we ignore the problems, the longer it is for us to face 'em.
We all look at it with face value,
but hate grows, it's setting the pace for you.
Everything's falling apart because we can't decide
what's fake and what's the real truth.
I know we all never wanna lose,
but to truly appreciate what you've got you've gotta prove
that you're ready to lose for the full effect of life to come loose.
And through the loss and sorrow we can find ways to grow and improve,
only then can we be truly comfortable in our own skin, not living in recluse,
but learning to coexist with set rules,
I bet you that's not what they teach in school.
Regret in full,
they painted the picture of your life all wrong,
but their opinion's not the rule and they need to get off their stool.
You've gotta live and be you and not what they think of you,
because you're not truly living if you do what they force you to do.
I'm living proof!
Still trying to find my niche in life,
may be a lot of trouble but wherever I end up,
it'll be where I choose to go, and not what everybody likes.
I'll get hurt and I'll get thrown from side to side
for opinions I have that I won't ever let slide.
Some call it being foolish and some call it holding onto pride,
but I'll live knowing that I truly lived and died.
And at the end of it all if I made some big mistakes,
I pray God can forgive me and lead me to the true way.
I pray there's a higher being, a greater king
that can take what we broke and continue to create.
I pray he can see that I'm just flesh and bones still trying to find my way.
Through it all...I hope I'm saved.
