Under every circumstance
Whatever I've seen
Every place that we've went
Every mood she's been in
Every moment I've known her
She has always been
So breathtakingly beautiful to me.
When we were both little kids
We would talk until dawn
About crushes and enemies
And trips we'd been on
Dreams for the future
And times we'd been wrong
At it was breathtakingly beautiful to me.
A couple years later
And not much has changed
Except her hair, and her style
And the sound of her name
Evokes a feeling in me that I cannot explain
It's so breathtakingly beautiful to me.
With the wave of her hair
The colour of her eyes
The freckles on her skin
Her smile, and the size
Of her heart, of her mind
It's hardly a surprise
She's so breathtakingly beautiful to me.
I wish I could change
The way my heart bleeds
Wanting so desperately
To be all that she needs
I've found that old fairytales
Tend to mislead
As to how painstakingly beautiful
Love tends to be.
She is like work of art
That I can never reach
But though it is merely
A figure of speech
I know in my heart
That she'll always be
Breathtakingly beautiful to me.
