Your angel's voice trothed for remedial
Your wings were the eastern wind, thrashing and hostile
We were standing centre-point of the smoggy welkin
You were the reason I could manage inside my skin
Our barriers were in the midsts of being conquered
I was certain following the precautions would have my death honoured
Smothered by the deluge, in the midst of besieging our assailant
For all we knew, we could have been under constant surveillance
Wrapped in the blanket of your arms
You questioned where I kept my alarms
Hence the reason, you might understand
Why I was on route to a danger that could have been left unplanned
I whispered you the words that began our overture
That 'insouciance' was a alias I have long been referred
to, in the way safety is a luxury I chose to reverse
Because I will not let a kin with clipped wings join me in the hearse
