God has given through His favor,
Jesus our Lord and Savior;
As measured by Christ who gave it,
Not completely on your merit.
Because you also must believe,
In order for you to receive;
Having faith for your salvation,
For everlasting foundation.
When Christ went to the highest place,
He gave us gifts for to embrace;
And took those who held us captive,
To suffer as long as they live.
Down to the lowest parts of earth,
In agony as they are worth;
Nothing for being such a scum,
Being worth less than a dried crumb.
He gave each one a gift to use,
To serve in the church with values;
While some may be good to teach,
And others might be good to preach.
For one body has many parts,
But never with so many hearts;
Only one heart and with one mind,
That remains so humble and kind.
So we must learn to just obey,
Not tempted in going astray;
Because of one mind and one thought,
Going the same way in what is sought.
There is no need to be uncouth,
Instead, lovingly speak the truth;
As we grow maturing in Christ,
No temptations to be enticed.
For each body part does its task,
With no need for each part to ask;
People power needs each brother,
Each one depends on the other.
