She dreams her fairytale dreams
of her Prince Charming who will sweep her off her feet.
Who will carry her away on his white stallion,
and be faithful to her forever.
Forsaking all others.
And they will live happily ever after.
Then...
after many years of dreaming her fairytale dreams,
she finally wakes up to reality.
There are no Prince Charmings.
The heart can be swayed.
The heart will betray.
The heart is easy prey
to flattery.
There are many other beautiful fish in the sea.
There are no Prince Charmings.
No matter who she meets,
he will wound her.
He will disappoint her.
For there is no perfection in the real world,
which is no fairytale.
There are no Prince Charmings.
She brings her broken dreams to the
only One that she can trust.
The only One who will be forever faithful to her.
There are no Prince Charmings.
She holds her dreams in her hands before Him,
then blows them away like fairy dust.
There are no Prince Charmings.
But there are those who are often kind.
Who can say "I'm sorry" when they hurt
their beloved one.
Who know they have faults,
which they seek to overcome.
Who will not give up on you,
when you are blue.
Perhaps that is something to be thankful for.
For, what else is there in this life down here?
There are no Prince Charmings.
