THREE POEMS DURING THE ELEVENTH HOUR

Cannot find the cigarettes
Then find them
I do
That's the way it goes
When homelessness
Is due
One bottle of Coke
Frozen but melting on it's own
Six minutes to Midnight
I am all alone
Except for the boxers
Snoring up a storm
How I love them
They will keep me warm
Not a two-dog night
But that's okay
This third dog
Is up typing anyway
Bug bombs have exploded
There were  many fatalities
Mouse poison not touched
The Gods they think of me
How I fear the little rodents
How I scream at the bugs
Thank God for insecticides
Science is part of God's love
Let me make it
Let my arms last
Take away the dust
It's one minute to Midnight
So sweet dreams
To you I trust.
