Lace woven with lies covers my face
A veil of illusion between us, honesty gone without a trace.
Petals of passion lay strewn on the ground
Pieces of what they were, lost children waiting to be found.
A bouquet of hopes is gripped with trembling fingers.
A cluster of dreams to be thrown aside, as imagination lingers.
A pristine white dress is today's disguise.
A wraith to me; a bride by onlookers' eyes.
I shoulder this lovely burden with a heavy heart,
and submit blindly til death do us part.
