The house on the hill By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
The house on the hill is still standing,
although the paint has cracked and flaked.
Some of the roof slates are covered in moss,
the rest are discoloured and sun baked.
Three windows are carrying subsidence cracks,
and the curtains have had their day.
The guttering is hanging loose against the roof,
and the drainpipe has come away.
The front wooden porch is showing its age,
and the sash windows appear to be seized.
Damp has invaded the north and west sides,
the other sides have been left to the trees.
I am very surprised that it is still here,
after the turmoil, it has faced.
Supernatural happenings and occurrences,
have plagued this once charming place.
