She always talked about
Wishing she was a bird
with wings so light,
feathers gliding through the air.
Wishing she could fly away
And not have to deal with
what's on land.
One night she was at a party
and someone spiked her drink
her head was too high in the sky
And perhaps
she really believed she was a bird
Maybe that's why she let her imaginary wings fly
when she jumped off that building.
She landed,
Dead.
