I wasn't expecting you By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
For months you were my best friend
How much coffee did we drink
As we shared our life stories
Hours passed by in a blink
I remember happy days
So innocent in their aim
Comfortable together
Never playing stupid games
You helped to heal the heartache
Of my lost and painful years
I learned to see life's goodness
I shed no more bitter tears
It was a time I cherished
And then suddenly that changed
I was never sure what happened
Or how my life got rearranged
Was it when you took my hand
Because the night was dark
Was it when you kissed me
We lit up that tiny spark
We both felt it happening
We were too afraid to see
But then you said I love you
In that moment we were free
I don't know what lies ahead
But I know our love is right
I know we will be happy
Because we found love that night
