My cat is a punk
She's black
Long haired
Must be fourteen now.
Deaf for several years
Will she be brushed
Will she hell
She has mastered the art of somersaulting
If that fails she always resorts to savagery
So she walks around looking like a punk
Hair sticking out all over the place
She is not afraid of anything
Which is not good.
It means that she will tackle all
Human and animal
Not realising that she is not in fact invincible
She is in her own world
I am her servant
She screams and if I fail to attend
The volume increases like a radio
I sometimes worry that if I ignore her
The neighbours will complain about the noise
And probably report me to the RSPCA for ill-treating a cat.
Never mind her ill-treatment of me. Not many humans
(I wouldn't call myself her owner) would manage to sit there
whilst she is doing the wall of death around the room.
I sometimes wonder when I see her charging about who in fact she is racing with.
It is very difficult to admonish a deaf cat.
I wait until she is asleep to try and cut the knots out.
